Maris Racal has broken her silence over allegations of infidelity involving her and actor Anthony Jennings, a controversy that has drawn public scrutiny after Jennings’ ex-girlfriend, Jam, leaked their private conversations. Speaking to ABS-CBN News on Friday (December 6), the actress admitted to mistakes, describing the events as the lowest point in her personal life. "Nagkamali ako (I made a mistake), and I want to say sorry for everything that I have done," Racal said tearfully. She recounted that the emotional turmoil began in June 2024, shortly before her publicized breakup with musician Rico Blanco. "I was in a very dark place," she confessed.

"What you saw was not a perfect human. I'm far, far from being perfect. What you saw was a human being. I'm just a human being," she said.

Racal admitted that her bond with Jennings grew while they worked together. "Anthony was giving me the kind of attention I needed," she explained, sharing how their connection deepened during a work trip to Italy in September. Racal said she believed both of them were single, and claimed Jennings repeatedly assured her. However, the narrative shifted after Jam shared screenshots of Racal and Jennings’ exchanges online, suggesting an ongoing affair while Jennings was still in a relationship. The viral posts sparked backlash. "I was gutted," Racal said, expressing shock upon discovering Jennings’ duplicity. "God knows ilang beses ako nagtanong (I asked so many times)," she stressed, indicating that she sought clarity from Jennings, who denied being involved with Jam. Racal extended an apology to Jam, empathizing with her pain. "I get her wrath. Kaya pala ganun because she was clueless, and I was clueless, too," she said. Attempts to reach out to Jam reportedly went unanswered. Public reaction to the scandal has been mixed, with supporters standing by Racal while critics voiced disappointment. Addressing her followers, Racal admitted feeling humiliated but remained committed to moving forward. "I'm still looking for that little girl inside of me. Someday, I’ll find her," she said, describing the incident as deeply personal. The issue has also caused a professional setback for Racal, who has lost some endorsement deals following the controversy.
