Your nol card may soon do a lot more than pay for metro rides. Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced on Tuesday (October 14) during GITEX Global 2025 that it has signed new partnerships with KHDA, Parkin PJSC, and PayPal to transform the nol card into a multi-purpose payment solution. Under these agreements, residents will be able to use the nol card to pay for education-related services, parking fees, dining, and shopping, aligning with Dubai’s Smart City vision for a fully cashless future. Mohammed Al Mudharreb, CEO of RTA’s Corporate Technology Support Services Sector, said the collaboration with KHDA, GTS Alive Middle East, Parkin, and PayPal aims to enhance convenience for all residents. “These esteemed entities will work with RTA to develop the nol ecosystem with the aim of enhancing services provided to the public across all segments of society,” Al Mudharreb said. With KHDA, the RTA will introduce a new “Study in Dubai – nol ISIC” card, serving as both a student ID and payment card for university students. It will offer access to discounts and lifestyle perks across Dubai. Meanwhile, the partnership with PayPal aims to provide faster, safer digital top-ups for nol cards. RTA’s partnership with Parkin will soon allow drivers to pay parking fees directly using their nol card. Mohammed Abdullah Al Ali, CEO of Parkin, said: “This partnership enhances interoperability between nol and Parkin, marking a pivotal step toward developing smart, sustainable services that cater to everyone in Dubai.”  ICA/Expat Media
