  ABU DHABI – A person in Abu Dhabi has been found positive for the Middle East Respiratory System (MERS) coronavirus but the Health Authority-Abu Dhabi (HAAD) assured that the patient is already receiving medical care. The MERS coronavirus case is the first to be recorded in the emirates since June last year when a laborer living in Abu Dhabi contracted MERS coronavirus and was hospitalized, according to reports. A HAAD spokesperson said: "Health Authority-Abu Dhabi is coordinating with the Ministry of Health and Prevention and other relevant governmental entities. Haad has taken all necessary measures as per standards and recommendations from the World Health Organization (WHO)." "To help prevent respiratory illnesses, the (ministry) has advised the public to wash their hands often with soap and water. If not available, use a hand sanitiser, cover nose and mouth with a tissue when coughing or sneezing and then throw the tissue in the trash," the HAAD representative also said.
