  ABU DHABI – The Abu Dhabi Transport Authority (ADTA) has announced that there will be a minimum taxi fare in the country's capital that will take effect within the month in an effort to improve taxi services. Flag-down rates will increase, the authority also said. The ADTA said there will be a minimum fare of Dh12 for all trips. Currently, there is a starting fee of Dh4 and the rate varies between day and night. Trips will cost Dh1.82 per kilometer for both day and night trips, meaning the current rate will increase from Dh1.60 and Dh1.69 *Taxi booking fees will go up from three dirhams during the day to four dirhams and from four dirhams to five dirhams at night. The waiting time charge per minute will remain at 50 fils for both day and night trips.
