Indian teen returns home after 30 hours of disappearance

The Indian teenager reported missing by his parents has returned to his family in Sharjah after 30 hours of disappearance late Thursday (March 17). Anav Seth, a 15-year-old Grade 10 student of Delhi Private School in Sharjah, left his home in the Al Taawun area after lunchtime on Wednesday just a day before his pre-board exams. He left a note addressed to his parents stating, “I am sorry, I am not the son you deserve.” He was found to have left the area with a packed suitcase. He did not bring any phone or any identification documents and was suspected to have brought only Dh2,000 of his pocket money. His worried parents filed a formal missing person’s complaint in the Buheirah Police Station in Sharjah. Mohit Seth, Anav’s father, shared his family’s relief as the boy came home in good health 30 hours after his disappearance. They still don’t know what made him come back but they haven’t asked him anything as of the moment to avoid stressing him more. With Anav’s calm demeanor and his good grades, they can only point out the severe academic stress of his Grade 10 examinations along with the online setup due to Covid has contributed to his decisions.
