Mogi-ya’s CEO, Takahiro Mogi, emphasizes that staff satisfaction is key to delivering top-tier service. The restaurant has launched a unique program that sends employees to learning institutes in the UAE to advance their skills. Mogi-ya covers tuition and fees, offering courses in management, computer applications, and more. “If a restaurant wants to achieve the highest levels of customer satisfaction, then employee satisfaction must come first, because they are our frontliners,” Mogi says. Mogi’s vision goes beyond immediate job satisfaction. He hopes to inspire his staff to become future entrepreneurs. He’s even willing to invest in their business ideas, from coffee shops to Japanese restaurants. The restaurant celebrates holidays and events from all cultures, creating a warm and inclusive atmosphere that motivates staff to excel. “If they are not happy to work in our company, how can we make our customers happy?” Mogi says.

Authentic Japanese food for everyone

Mogi-ya serves a variety of traditional Japanese dishes, including sushi, sashimi, and premium A5 wagyu beef imported directly from Japan. The restaurant’s all-you-can-eat wagyu offer starts at just Dh99, making it a popular choice for food enthusiasts. Mogi believes in balancing quality with affordability and ensuring a stable operation that doesn’t prioritize profit over service. “Our concept is to maintain a stable budget, profit, sales, customer numbers, salaries, and quality,” he explains. Currently, Mogi-ya has two branches in Dubai – one in Al Seef and another in Al Barsha. Mogi plans to expand further, eyeing Saudi Arabia and Europe as potential markets. He attributes Dubai’s business-friendly environment and strong currency as key factors for their success.
