A Muslim couple in Sitapur district of Uttar Pradesh, India, was beaten to death by neighbors using iron rods and sticks after their son allegedly eloped with a Hindu girl, according to local authorities and Indian media. Three individuals have been arrested in connection with the incident. Allegedly, the murder arose from an affair between the victim's son and one of the accused's daughters. The couple, identified as Abbas and Kamrul Nisha, died instantly in the assault, while the attackers managed to escape. Sitapur Superintendent of Police, Chakresh Mishra, reported that a few years ago, Abbas's son had eloped with a girl from a neighboring household, resulting in his imprisonment. Upon his recent release, family members organized the attack on the couple. According to Mishra, villagers claimed that the deceased couple's son Shaukat and Rampal's daughter Ruby had a relationship marked by a previous abduction and marriage. Police have arrested the three primary suspects and a hunt for the remaining two is underway. KKL/Expat Media
