Nadine Lustre in Dubai reveals 5 things we didn’t know about Never Not Love You

  DUBAI – Filipino actress Nadine Lustre revealed four things about her new movie that people don’t yet know about. The star was at Dubai Mall on Wednesday ahead of the premiere of Never Not Love You. Here’s what she said:

‘Most of the lines were improvised’

Nadine said she and her co-star boyfriend James Reid took the movie project because “we both know we need to grow as actors and as individuals. Not just we're growing old but it's time for us to take it to the next level. We're done with the tweetums. The romcoms.” “Working on the film is so much different from our old ones. Most of the lines were improvised, impromptu. that's why it's so real,” she said.

‘No ending’

Well, now it has. But in the beginning there wasn’t any, Nadine revealed. “When we started working on the film, we hadn't finished the script yet. So direk (film director Antoinette Jadaone) decided on the ending malapit nang matapos ang show (near the end of the show),” she said, adding that they “wanted it to be as real as possible”.

She got a Zambal dialect coach

In the movie, Nadine plays the role of a young woman from Zambales province in the Philippines. The star revealed that it was quite a challenge going through some of her lines in the Zambal dialect. “Inaral ko talaga sya (I really learned it). I have someone from Zambales on the set. It's quite hard. It's hard for me to memorize something I don't understand so I have a coach on set. Every time I have Zambal lines he has to explain to me what each word means so at least I know how to say it properly,” she said.

Same yet opposite from character

How similar is her personality to the character, Joanne? “Joanne is a very career driven woman. I think that's where Joanne and me are the same. I am very focused when it comes to my career, when it comes to my work, when it comes to all the things that I do. Just like her,” she said. But there's a lot of differences as well. “In the movie she's a bit impatient. I am the opposite,” Nadine revealed.

‘Very reckless’ James in character

How close is James to his character? “Very, very different. Gio is short tempered. He's a bad boy. He's very reckless. James is the complete opposite of Gio,” Nadine said. ICA/Expat Media
