Nepali wife murderer in Dubai gets life in jail

  DUBAI – A Nepali man who stabbed his wife to death eleven times outside their residence in Dubai has been sentenced to life in jail by the Dubai Criminal Court. A life sentence in the UAE is equivalent to 25 years in jail. He will be deported after serving his jail term. Judges on Wednesday (June 23) passed the verdict after hearing how he “didn’t regret” the cold blooded murder outside the 21st Century Tower on Sheikh Zayed Road on September 25. Authorities said that he stabbed her eleven times in the head, chest, neck and stomach and then called police, standing over her body until they arrived. “I gave up my family and first wife to be with her,” he told the court. He claimed that friends told him in June that she was having an affair. He told police he called her several times that fateful day on September 25, and that an unidentified man answered the call and told him not to disturb them. When the woman didn’t answer her husband’s final call at 6pm, he bought a knife from a supermarket and waited for her outside the building where they lived. When she arrived at the building at past 8pm, he asked her about the man who answered the phone call before stabbing her dead and then taking pictures of her sprawled on the ground. The murder was witnessed by the security guard and a delivery man. When police arrived at the scene, they found the husband beside his wife’s body. He was still holding the knife in his hand.
