Netflix says sorry to UAE expat over gaffe that caused flood of phone calls

  DUBAI – Streaming service Netflix has apologised after A UAE expatriate was inundated with hundreds of phone calls when their top show accidentally showed his mobile number. Indian expat Kunhabdulla CM said he received more than 200 calls from fans of Sacred Games. The popular crime thriller showed Kunhabdulla’s mobile number in a scene with an undercover agent. Fans spotted his details on a piece of paper given to one of the characters of the show. His number number also showed in the subtitle. Kunhabdulla said he got worried when people called to tell him things like “killer game”, according to Khaleej Times. The expat thought he was in trouble. Kunhabdulla said he was forced to switch off his mobile phone after getting a flood of phone calls. Netflix has apologised to Kunhabdull and also deleted his number in the subtitle. “We apologise for the inconvenience caused. As soon as we were alerted of the situation, we resolved the issue,” Netflix said in a statement.
