New bus service to Hindu temple rolls out in Abu Dhabi
Visitors to the region's first hand-carved BAPS Hindu stone temple in Abu Dhabi can now get there by public bus. The service will start from Abu Dhabi Bus Terminal and pass through Sultan bin Zayed the First Street, Hamdan bin Mohammed Street, Al Bahyan and Al Shahama before reaching the BAPS temple in Abu Mureikha, off the Abu Dhabi-Dubai highway. The bus ride is expected to take 90 minutes and will operate on bus number 203 on Saturdays and Sundays. Bus riders will need to use the Hafilat card to use the bus. The Integrated Transport Centre previously announced that starting March 1, the standard public bus fare will be Dh2 plus additional five fils for every kilometre crossed, or a maximum of Dh5 per trip. Commuters caught not using their Hafilat card will be fined Dh200. The BAPS Hindu temple is open from 9am to 9pm from Tuesday to Sunday. It is closed on Monday.
