Starting May 1, Filipinos in Dubai and the Northern Emirates can expect a smoother contract verification process at the Migrant Workers Office Dubai and Northern Emirates (MWO Dubai) with the implementation of new rules aimed at improving efficiency and managing applicant flow. In a statement sent to Expat Media, Labor Attaché Joh Rio Bautista announced, “To manage the number of Overseas Filipino Workers visiting the Migrant Workers Office Dubai and Northern Emirates (MWO Dubai) and to expand the reach of the post’s online contract verification system, we inform the public that starting May 1, the MWO Dubai will implement changes to its employment verification processes." Two verification options will be available beginning May 1: • Online submission of documents • Walk-in verification one working day before the flight Bautista encouraged Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) to use the online submission option to avoid queues at MWO Dubai, which typically sees high foot traffic. Meanwhile, workers renewing their OWWA membership who are still employed with the same company registered with OWWA can visit OWWA Dubai directly on any working day without a prior appointment. Similarly, those seeking PAG-IBIG services can walk in without an appointment, while OFWs needing SSS services must book an appointment through this link.

Guide: How to verify your employment contract at MWO Dubai

Filipino workers have two options for employment contract verification: online submission or walk-in verification. 1. Online submission of documents OFWs with visas issued in Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Fujairah, Umm Al Quwain, or Ras Al Khaimah can submit their documents online for verification. Online submission is encouraged for convenience and to reduce waiting times at the office. Key details: • A new online submission form opens every Monday at 8am with 800 slots available weekly. • The form closes either once all slots are filled or by Wednesday at 11:59pm, whichever comes first. • The new submission link is posted weekly on MWO Dubai’s website and their Facebook page. • The processing time for documents is 11 working days. • Once approved, OFWs will receive a schedule to collect and pay for their verified documents at MWO Dubai. The collection process is expected to take about 20 minutes. 2. Walk-in contract verification OFWs who are unable to submit their documents online can opt for walk-in verification at MWO Dubai one working day before their confirmed flight to the Philippines. Eligible for walk-in: • OFWs flying the next day who did not submit documents online. • Authorized representatives submitting on behalf of OFWs flying soon. • OFWs already in the Philippines who missed pre-departure verification. • OFWs specifically instructed by MWO Dubai to appear in person. Special cases: • If the scheduled flight falls on Saturday, Sunday, or Monday, OFWs must visit MWO Dubai on the preceding Thursday or Friday. • If the day before the flight is a holiday or non-working day, OFWs should visit MWO Dubai on the nearest working day prior to departure. Authorized representatives: • Representatives can submit documents 1-3 days before the OFW’s OEC appointment in the Philippines or 2-5 days before the OFW’s return flight to the UAE. Labor Attaché Bautista emphasized, "We highly encourage our kababayans to use the online submission to streamline the process and avoid long queues, especially during peak travel seasons."
