A new Dh40 million mall is set to rise in Dubai's Al Khawaneej area, the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) announced. The unique initiative aims to support the emirate's mosques financially and culturally, while serving nearby community and visitors, offering a blend of retail, dining, and recreational spaces. The mall will feature a diverse range of facilities, including 29 retail outlets, a supermarket, a medical centre, a fitness centre and food and beverage options. The mall will also house two prayer halls, emphasizing its role in promoting cultural and religious values within the community. The mall will span a total area of 165,000 square feet and is expected to become a significant landmark in the area. One of the standout features of the mall is its commitment to sustainability and green building practices. The structure will incorporate energy-efficient systems and environmentally friendly materials. IACAD's project aligns with Dubai's broader vision of sustainable development and innovative urban planning. The revenue generated from the mall will directly support the maintenance and operation of local mosques. The mall is expected to bring annual revenues of Dh8 million, which will be used to cover the expenses of about 50 mosques in Dubai that do not have access to endowments. This financial model aims to ensure the continuous provision of religious services and community support.
