The Dh50 silver coin in the UAE. CENTRAL BANK OF UAE

The Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) has issued a limited edition of silver commemorative coins in celebration of its Golden Jubilee. The coins, launched on Wednesday (January 22), mark the CBUAE’s 50 years of contributions to the UAE’s financial and economic development. The obverse side of the coin features a portrait of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, surrounded by his name and title in Arabic. The reverse showcases an illustration of the CBUAE building with the inscription “50 Years of the Central Bank of the UAE” in Arabic and English, alongside the years 1973-2023 and a nominal value of Dh50. Only 3,000 of the silver coins have been released, each weighing 60 grams. To make the coins more accessible, the central bank introduced a digital purchasing platform on centralbank.ae.  The commemorative coin is priced at Dh625 on the CBUAE website, but is being sold at Dh650 including delivery. Coin collectors are urged to make a purchase while stocks last. In addition to the Golden Jubilee coin, collectors can purchase commemorative coins issued in previous years through the same platform.
