A new DNA test in the UAE traces your ancestry from 100 generations or more, according to a hospital that launched the service. The test, available at RAK Hospital, uses the latest Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) technology, which provides in-depth analysis of a person’s ancestors within a specific geographical location. “You can discover where your DNA is from, the migration paths of your ancestors with a simple saliva collection. The results will give you an unprecedented view of your lineage,” according to RAK Hospital. “Connecting you to your history, it will help you find people and places deep in your past where no records can take,” the hospital added. The test costs Dh1,100. Payments are done online and a sample collection kit is sent to your home. You can then collect your saliva sample and book a collection service.
