New Dubai-Sharjah ferry for Dh15

  DUBAI – A new ferry service between Dubai and Sharjah is going to cut commuters’ travel time to 35 minutes and save them money with tickets starting from Dh15. Passengers can also up for gold class seats for Dh25. The new ferry service is expected to serve 1.3 million passengers per year. According to the Roads and Transport Authority, passengers will also enjoy free WiFi aboard the ferry, which can accommodate up to 125 passengers. The ferries will have 42 trips per day between Al Ghubaiba ferry station on the Dubai Creek to the Aquarium Marine Station in Sharjah. The ferries will depart the stations every 30 minutes from 5am to 9am, and from 4pm to 8:30pm from Saturday to Sunday. During off-peak times, the ferries will depart every 90 minutes. From Dubai, the first ferry will depart at 5:15am, with the last ferry leaving at 8pm. From Sharjah, the ferry will depart at 5am, with the last ferry departing at 7:30pm. People with special needs and children under the age of five travel for free. A shuttle bus service will also be available at Heart of Sharjah, passing by the Corniche and Al Majaz, to connect with the marine station near Sharjah Aquarium to make it easier for commuters to catch a ferry ride.
