120-bed facility offers online consultation with doctors for follow-up purposes

  SHARJAH – Medcare Hospital, a 120-bed multi-speciality facility, has opened its doors in Sharjah. The hospital was inaugurated on Wednesday by members of Sharjah’s ruling family. It is considered the largest hospital of Aster DM Healthcare in the UAE and is located along King Faisal Street. A unique service of the hospital is follow-up consultation for patients that can be done online. The service is called eStisharati (My Consultancy). Hospital officials said that with the new service, a follow-up consultation can be done via video conferencing like Skype. Dr. Azad Moopen, founder and managing director of Aster DM Healthcare, said they plan to implement the same online service in other Aster health facilities once they secure the approval of authorities. Moopen said post-operative patients can benefit from the service as they can chat online with their doctor within seven days after their surgical procedure was done.
