A new ban on trucks traveling through Sharjah roads will be enforced starting on July 4, according to the Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). Under the new ban, trucks are not allowed on Sharjah roads from 5:30am until 8:30am, and from 3pm until 8pm. On Sharjah-Al Dhaid Road, Emirates Bypass Road and El Hbab-Al Madam Road, trucks are banned from 5:30am until 8:30am. According to Sharjah’s RTA, the truck ban is aimed at avoiding congestion during peak travel periods for motorists and commuters.
