Got an SMS on court case against you? It's a scam

  DUBAI -The latest scam to hit UAE residents comes in an SMS notifying victims of an alleged court case registered against them. The latest scam is called SMS phising, according to the Telecommunications and Regulatory Authority (TRA). The TRA issued the warning after the scam SMS left many people in a state of panic. The SMS would come with a link that would leave users who clicked on it vulnerable to cyber attacks. “In this case, the attacker or the hacker persuades the receiver of this SMS to click on the link provided which might contain a harmful data such as a Trojan, a malware or a virus, or asks them to provide personal information such as credit card information or bank account information,” according to TRA in a statement. The TRA urged users to "think before you act, be aware of communications that implore you to act immediately and verify the sender before engaging the provided information".
