New Year baby named after UAE President

RAS AL KHAIMAH – The first baby born in Ras Al Khaimah in 2020 has been named after UAE President Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Baby boy Khalifa welcomed 2020 in Ras Al Khaimah’s RAK Hospital just minutes after midnight. He weighed in at about 3.5kg. He is the third son to parents Salem Mubarak and Salma Esmaeel Mubarak, who said they were proud to name him after the UAE’s President. “I chose to call him Khalifa after our president, and for us this baby, like our two other sons is a blessing,” said his father, Salem. “I don’t know how to express my happiness, but there’s no denying that we have begun the new year with a very happy feeling,” he added.
