A 32-year-old Nigerian man has been apprehended by Sharjah Police  after a series of alarming incidents in his fifth-floor apartment in the Al Nahda area. The incident happened on Saturday (November 23). According to witnesses, the man exhibited “erratic” behavior around 7pm, which intensified an hour later when he began throwing various objects from his apartment window onto the street below. Among the items hurled were glass objects and water containers, some of which injured pedestrians. "He was screaming, even pretending at one point to jump from the window,” said a witness who lives in the same building. The Sharjah Police Operations Room received an emergency call from an injured pedestrian, prompting an immediate response. Officers quickly arrived at the scene and successfully subdued the man without further escalation. The injured individuals received medical attention, though police have not disclosed the number or extent of the injuries. Residents of the building and passersby were deeply shaken by the incident, which caused temporary road closures in the vicinity to ensure public safety. Authorities are now investigating the incident and working to determine the cause of the man’s erratic behavior. Officials urged residents to report any signs of unusual activity in their neighborhoods to prevent similar occurrences. ICA/Expat Media
