UAE announces no deaths in last 24 hours, 431 new recoveries

DUBAI – The UAE continued to report no Covid-related deaths in the country on Friday (April 15), the 39th day that no one died from coronavirus in the emirates. There has been no recorded Covid-related death in the UAE since March 8, and the country has among the lowest death rates in the world at 2,302. According to the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP), it conducted 256,333 additional Covid-19 tests over the past 24 hours, using state-of-the-art medical testing equipment. As part of its intensified testing campaign, MoHAP announced 239 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of recorded cases in the UAE to 895,018. According to the ministry, the infected individuals are from various nationalities, are in a stable condition, and receiving the necessary care. The ministry also noted that an additional 431 individuals had fully recovered from Covid-19, bringing the total number of recoveries to 876,495. The UAE has continued to record daily cases that are below 250—considered a big drop from the nearly 4,000 daily cases reported in mid-January. With the big decline in daily cases, the UAE has further relaxed its Covid-19 restrictions this week. On April 19, it is lifting a travel ban on UAE citizens wanting to travel abroad. Children below the age of 16 also do not need a PCR test to travel. ICA/Expat Media
