The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority has debunked claims that non-halal Mars chocolates are being sold in the capital. The authority stressed that the Abu Dhabi markets are free of non-halal Mars chocolates and products, and that all imported food products undergo strict controls at various ports. It also assured consumers that it is taking all necessary steps to ensure that food sold or distributed in the emirate is fit for consumption, and that unsafe or unhealthy products are prevented from reaching Abu Dhabi markets. The authority said that all food sold in Abu Dhabi, whether locally produced or imported, are subject to strict control and that no product is allowed unless it conforms to approved specifications, in addition to inspections and food sampling.
