An Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) is currently in a coma after being found unconscious and covered in blood on a road near his residence in Saudi Arabia. Jayson Calope is working as a barista in Saudi Arabia. According to his brother, a fellow Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) shared that he was trying to save himself from someone based on CCTV footage. "My brother was caught jumping from somewhere because he fought back and wanted to escape. His wallet and cell phone are missing. I was also told that he has a serious head injury and that he was choked," he said. In the initial information provided by the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Jayson may have accidentally fallen from a moving vehicle, but the agency is still seeking further details from Saudi authorities. "The investigation is still ongoing. We are still waiting for the police report to know what really happened…He was brain-dead when he was rushed to the hospital. He was brought to the ICU and his operation was successful," said OWWA Operation Center Director II Atty. Sherilyn Malonzo. OWWA assured that it will assist Jayson with his emergency repatriation and provide him with medical support, along with other assistance to his family. FLE/Expat Media
