Ministry of Energy announces new pump prices starting October 1
ABU DHABI – The Ministry of Energy announced on Thursday that petrol prices in the country will go up anew next month.
The ministry said Super 98 will go up 5.4 percent - from Dh2.01 to Dh2.12- in October while Special 95 will cost Dh2.01 from Dh1.90 starting Sunday or an increase of 5.79 percent.
The cost of E-Plus will increase from Dh1.83 to Dh1.94. Diesel will cost five percent more at Dh2.10.
Reports said the global benchmark - Brent crude - rose more than 12 percent to US$58.34 in midday tradings this month compared to last month and that the UAE government liberalized the cost of fuel sold in the country in 2015 by using "benchmark prices".
