The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) is offering an exciting opportunity for lifelong learners in 2025: 52 free Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) covering a diverse range of topics. In a recent announcement, UPOU said the courses are “free, self-paced, and open to anyone with internet access.” Participants who complete the courses can earn electronic certificates, which can be used as proof of 16 hours of training. “These MOOCs are designed to spark curiosity and fuel growth,” UPOU said in a statement. The courses span various fields, including technology, education, business, and social entrepreneurship. For instance, January courses focus on resilience and climate strategies, while February offers classes on graphic design and social entrepreneurship. Each month brings unique opportunities to expand knowledge and skills.

How to register for UPOU’s free courses

1. If you already have a MODeL account, you can self-enroll in courses featured on UPOU’s homepage: model.upou.edu.ph 2. If you don’t have an account: - Fill out the registration form here: url.upou.edu.ph/upoumodel-signup - UPOU processes new accounts every Thursday, with a weekly cut-off at 4pm on Wednesdays. For assistance, UPOU’s chatbot “Openg” is available on the MODeL platform.
