Is Pacquiao having tough time training for Vargas fight?

DUBAI - Is returning boxing champion and Philippine Senator Manny Pacquiao having a hard time training for his upcoming fight next month? Apparently, this was the case bared by his Canadian adviser Michael Koncz. Koncz told Philboxing’s Aquiles Zonio that the ongoing training for Pacquiao’s November 5 fight with World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight champion Jessie Vargas is difficult to do considering the amount of work he has to do as a legislator. Pacquiao is nearly halfway into his training for the Vargas fight and while he is not complaining, his constituents know that he is doing it in order to fulfill his promise during the campaign period that he will devote full time to his legislative work. "This training camp is very difficult because Manny Pacquiao has to wake up early in the morning to jog. After that, he has to go to the Senate to fulfill his legislative duties then train at the gym late in the afternoon," Koncz said. Since the starts of the 17th congress, Pacquiao has been attending senate sessions in the afternoon after doing his usual early morning exercises and in early evening he would proceed to the Elorde Gym near the senate offices to do his usual workouts and sparring sessions. This tight schedule must have already taken its toll on Pacquiao's health. His longtime trainer, Freddie Roach, had noticed this just a few days after he flew in from the US to take over the camp operation. Roach is doing something about the situation by reducing the number of sparring sessions as training progresses. Pacquiao's commitment to attend to his legislative work sprang from being severely criticized for being an absentee congressman when he served for two terms as the lone representative of Sarangani Province in the House of Representatives.
