Filipino food lovers and entrepreneurs came together for a flavorful celebration of World Food Day on Thursday (October 16) at the Metropolitan Hotel Dubai. The event, aptly titled “Pagsasalo”—which means “feast” or “gathering” in Filipino—brought together a vibrant mix of food, culture, and community spirit. Guests were treated to a night celebrating Filipino cuisine, with dishes and delicacies proudly showcased by The Desert Wok, Agemono Express, Bibingka and Paratha, Naderang, Chinese Star Restaurant, Afford’aCup, Paluto, iChips Plus, Naimas Café & Bistro, Bravo Cakes, JT’s Manukan Grille, Ounce, Panadero, Off the Hook, Manila Bistro, Cuisinerong Pinoy Restaurant, Bawangong, and Jaiko Taho. “Pagsasalo is more than just food—it’s about community, connection, and celebrating our heritage through every bite,” said Philippine Business Council Dubai Chairman Asiyah Evangeline Monjardin. The event also drew distinguished guests including Philippine Ambassador to the UAE Alfonso Ver, Philippine Consul General Marford Angeles, Vice Consul Jim Jimeno, and Philippine Business Council Dubai (PBC Dubai) representatives, including Chaida Das, President of the PBC Dubai’s League of Food and Beverage Entrepreneurs. “We are deeply honored by the support of our Filipino community leaders and entrepreneurs who made the night even more meaningful,” said Roberto Capulong, Board Director of the Philippine Business Council Dubai and the League of Food and Beverage Entrepreneurs, as well as owner of Agemono Express.
