Paid parking looms for Dubai's Al Khail Gate

DUBAI - Paid parking meters in Dubai's Al Khail Gate community will be activated on June 17, according to the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) call centre. This leaves residents in the Al Qouz community with one month before they start paying for parking vehicles in the area. Parking per hour will cost motorists Dh4, with a maximum daily fee of Dh32. The RTA took over the management and operation of parking lots in the community on April 4. Residents can also get seasonal permit cards S365. Permits are available from the RTA centre in Manara or in Al Kifaf Customer Happiness Centres. Applicants will need to present a copy of their attested Ejari and their vehicle registration card. Motorists caught parking illegally in paid parking slots reserved for residents with seasonal permit cards will be fined Dh200. Residents in apartments with less than three bedrooms will get one permit, while residents in three-bedroom units will be issued two permits. Tenants with seasonal permits can park in reserved parking slots marked S 365 or in paid parking slots for visitors marked 365 L.
