Motorists in Khor Fakkan will soon need to pay for parking until midnight in designated zones, following a new announcement by the city’s municipality. Starting February 16, paid parking zones that operate seven days a week will charge fees from 8am until midnight. Previously, charges applied until 10pm. These zones are typically identified by blue signage and apply every day of the week, including public holidays. The move follows a similar decision in Sharjah city. In October 2024, Sharjah authorities announced that 7-day paid parking zones would extend their timing from 10pm to midnight, with implementation beginning in November 2024. Parking fees in Sharjah, which also apply to Khor Fakkan’s paid zones, are as follows: 1 hour – Dh2 2 hours – Dh5 3 hours – Dh8 5 hours – Dh12 Motorists can pay parking fees through the SMS parking service in the emirate. For regular users, prepaid parking subscriptions are available for individuals and businesses. These subscriptions allow access to paid public parking spaces based on selected plans. Business subscription for all areas of Sharjah city: 10 days – Dh170 20 days – Dh290 30 days – Dh390 3 months – Dh1,050 6 months – Dh1,750 12 months – Dh2,850 Commercial parking subscription for two areas: 3 months – Dh600 6 months – Dh1,100 12 months – Dh2,100 Authorities said subscription fees vary depending on the selected category and coverage area. Motorists are advised to check signage carefully to confirm zone type and applicable timings before parking.
