Sharjah’s Kalba city will implement a paid parking system starting February 1, as part of efforts to streamline traffic and manage parking availability. The Kalba Municipality announced the move on Tuesday (January 14), marking another step in Sharjah’s broader urban development plans. The paid parking system will apply from 8am to 10pm, Saturday to Thursday, with Fridays remaining free of charge. However, zones requiring parking fees throughout the week, including official holidays, will remain operational. These zones can be identified by blue information signs, the municipality confirmed. The new system also incorporates smart payment options, including mobile applications and prepaid cards, offering convenience to motorists. The municipality is working with technology providers to ensure seamless integration. The decision aligns with Sharjah's ongoing efforts to manage growing vehicle numbers and improve parking accessibility. Authorities have emphasized the importance of creating smoother traffic flow and ensuring fair parking access for residents and visitors.

Enforcement and penalties
