A security guard shot and killed an 8-year-old boy outside of a pizza place in Karachi, Pakistan, a police spokesperson said. The Express Tribune reported on Monday that the event happened in Clifton. The boy, Umar, was begging outside of a restaurant, and the security guard tried to tell him to go away, but he didn't listen. When the boy didn't listen to the guard's warning, the guard shot the boy twice. The report also said that the security guard rushed the boy to a nearby hospital with the help of a coworker, but the boy died on the way to the hospital. Instead of calling the police, the guards threw the boy's body in a garbage dump near the hospital and ran away. According to the news story, the boy's father is an autorickshaw driver from the province of Balochistan. He moved to Karachi to find better job opportunities. The father denied Umar ever begged.
