Pakistani nationals traveling abroad on visit visas are now required to book return tickets with the same airline under a new directive issued by Pakistan's Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and Civil Aviation Authority. This rule applies to popular destinations, including Dubai, Bangkok, and Malaysia, as part of efforts to curb irregular travel practices. In a recent communication to domestic and foreign airlines, the FIA and Civil Aviation Authority stressed that travelers must have two-way tickets from the same airline, and the PNR (Passenger Name Record) number must match for both legs of the journey. Airlines have been instructed not to issue boarding passes to passengers who fail to meet these criteria. The directive is designed to prevent individuals from traveling on visit visas with the intention of remaining in other countries for purposes such as seeking employment. Additionally, the authorities are working to reduce the financial burden on airlines and governments when such individuals are deported. Pakistani passengers with low-profile travel histories will also be subject to additional scrutiny at airports to prevent illegal immigration. The FIA's move is part of a broader effort to enhance security protocols and ensure the proper use of visit visas. Travelers have been advised to comply with the new regulations to avoid delays or penalties when traveling abroad.
