Global destinations received 369M int'l overnight visitors from January to April

  Palestinian territories and Egypt placed first and second, respectively, among the world's fastest-growing tourist destinations in the first four months of the year, according to a latest report by the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). The UNWTO's World Tourism Barometer report said global tourist destinations received 369 million international tourists (overnight visitors) from January to April, which is 21 million more compared to the same period last year. The list of the fastest-growing tourist destinations in the world has several surprise entries as the UNWTO noted the inclusion of Mongolia, Tunisia alongside perennial tourist draws Vietnam and Iceland. Despite political unrest and tourism in Tunisia – which ranked fifth - and Egypt, the UNWTO report said the two countries continue to attract tourists.
