Dubai has unveiled the master plan for a new development that is going be twice the size of the Palm Jumeirah. The name of the project? Palm Jebel Ali. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, recently approved the master plan for Palm Jebel Ali. The futuristic project will add 110km to Dubai’s existing coastline and will feature more than 80 hotels and resorts for an “unrivalled luxury beachside lifestyle”. Sheikh Mohammed said that Palm Jebel Ali “will deliver our vision to raise the city's status as a leading global city.” The Dubai ruler said the mega project also reaffirms the emirate’s commitment to double the size of the city's economy by 2033. “Each day, we add a crucial component to the blueprint to build the world’s greatest city,” he added.
