At the launch of the new Paluto Restaurant branch in Waterfront Market, Dubai on May 7, 2026.
After nearly a decade in the UAE’s competitive food industry, Paluto Restaurant has opened its second branch at Waterfront Market, marking a major milestone in the brand’s expansion journey. Located on the second level of Waterfront Market, the new branch officially launched as the restaurant celebrated its ninth anniversary in the UAE. The expansion reflects the company’s continued growth from humble beginnings into a recognised Filipino culinary brand serving residents and visitors in Dubai. The new branch features a larger dining space designed for family gatherings, private functions, and community events, while maintaining the warm and welcoming atmosphere associated with the restaurant. According to Paluto's Managing Director Myla Bijasa, the company’s growth was made possible through perseverance and teamwork. “Throughout all the trials we have encountered over these nine years, my partners and I, along with the entire Team Paluto, have remained steadfast,” Bijasa said. “Our focus has always been on providing the best for our guests. We are honored to continue this journey by providing world-class service in both of our branches.” The launch event on Thursday (May 7) drew several dignitaries, business leaders and members of the Filipino community in the UAE. Among those present were Philippine Ambassador to the UAE Alfonso Ver and Philippine Consul General Ambrosio Brian Enciso III. Waterfront Market Manager Mohammad Al Madani also attended the event and delivered a message of support to Bijasa and the Paluto team. Guests at the launch were treated to specialty gifts from SNAAP Chocolates by Chef Nouel Catis, known for his “Dubai chocolate” creations. The event also featured a culinary showcase by Chef Chris of Bravo Cakes. A congratulatory message from the Filipino business community was delivered by Asiyah Monjardin, the chairperson of the Philippine Business Council Dubai and Northern Emirates. Monjardin said Paluto’s expansion at Waterfront Market further strengthens the presence of Filipino culinary brands within Dubai’s multicultural dining landscape. Dubai’s restaurant sector remains highly competitive, with Filipino-owned establishments increasingly expanding across the UAE as demand for Filipino cuisine continues to grow among expatriates and international diners.
