A Turkish Airlines flight from Istanbul to Marrakesh made an emergency landing in Algeria after a passenger committed suicide in the plane’s restroom, according to the airline in a statement. The passenger locked himself in the restroom during the flight. This raised alarm among flight crew, who found him in critical condition after they opened the door. Flight crew reportedly tried to revive the man with the help of a doctor on board. Flight TK 619 landed in Algeria where medical teams at the airport confirmed the passenger’s death. Algerian authorities have begun an investigation into the incident. There were no further details about the man’s identity or the circumstances surrounding the incident.
