Pay speeding fines early, get 50 percent discount in Ras Al Khaimah

  DUBAI - A huge discount awaits motorists who will pay their traffic fines early in Ras Al Khaimah. Drivers caught on radar for speeding will get a 50 percent discount if the fine is paid within 50 days of committing the traffic violation, according to the Ras Al Khaimah Police. A 30 percent discount applies if errant driverspay the fine on the 51st day of being caught by any of the fixed or mobile speed cameras on the roads and highways of the northern emirate. Drivers have until the 80th day from the time they committed a violation to pay the fine and get a 30 percent discount, police said. Motorists who drive at speeds above 160kmph will not be eligible for a discount. The discount in fines has been integrated into the unified federal traffic system across the country and erring drivers may pay their fines at any traffic department.
