The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) is set to thrill basketball fans in the Middle East with games in Dubai this October and its first-ever matches in Bahrain this December, Commissioner Willie Marcial confirmed. The Dubai game is expected in the third week of October, with talks ongoing to also host a match in Abu Dhabi, Marcial said. Further details have yet to be announced. In Bahrain, two games are scheduled for December 16 and 18, coinciding with the country’s National Day celebrations and the PBA’s landmark 50th anniversary season. “We are very happy to host these games in Bahrain… especially for the Filipinos who cannot come to the Philippines to watch live,” said Bahrain Basketball Association president Alaa Mudara. “I hope it wouldn’t be the last.” PBA Commissioner Marcial said three teams will travel to Manama, with one playing twice. The games will be aired in the Philippines through RPTV and Cignal. Fans in the Philippines can also enjoy an “overnight triple treat,” with local matches scheduled on December 15 and 17.
