An airport cleaner in the Philippines has found P1 million ($16,999) worth of US dollar bills stuffed in a pair of dirty socks left at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport. Rosalinda Celero handed over the cash to airport officials. Celero said she was doing her daily cleaning chores at the departure area of Terminal 3 on Thursday (June 20) when she found the pair of dirty socks from under a chair. The Filipina said she did not notice there was cash rolled up inside until she swept the socks into her dustpan and it got stuck inside. When she inspected the socks, she found 202 dollar bills of various denominations rolled up inside. She immediately handed over the socks to the Lost and Found section of the airport’s terminal 3, which conducted an inventory of the recovered items. The Manila International Airport Authority is reviewing CCTV footage to find the owner of the pair of socks and its contents. ICA/Expat Media
