Three soldiers and at least four rebels have been killed in clashes in Basilan, Philippines. At least 13 soldiers and an unknown number of rebels were wounded in the fighting, threatening a 2014 peace agreement in the restive southern Philippines. Brigadier-General Domingo Gobway, commander of the Philippine Army's Joint Task Force Basilan, said gun battles broke out on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday morning in Basilan's Ungkaya Pukan town, 863 miles south of Manila. The fighting temporarily ceased on Wednesday but resumed Thursday morning when the front's fighters attacked government soldiers, Gobway said. BKM/ Expat Media
