Philippine Consulate Dubai celebrates the International Women’s month

  DUBAI – The Philippine Consulate in Dubai and the Northern Emirates and the Filipino Ladies of Dubai led by Dr. Yasmin Balajadia-Cortes opened its doors to over 100 women in celebration of International Women’s Month at the Philippine Consulate on March 24. The celebration participated by the Filipino women community from Dubai and the Northern Emirates. Consulate staff, entrepreneurs, housewives, members of various organizations, and the ladies being assisted at the Consulate’s and POLO’s Migrant Worker Center also attended the celebration. Dr. Yasmin Balajadia-Cortes in her inspirational talk emphasized that while we celebrate March as International Women’s Month, every day is, in fact, Women’s Day because the most basic structure of our society rests on the nurture only a mother can give. She also reiterated that women are an equal force in our community and the fight for recognition of the rights as human beings of many millions of other women across the world exist and must continue. Senior Physiotherapist at the Thumbay Hospital Krishnakali Mondal conducted a short seminar on Physical Stress Management and Ergonomics. Among the other activities held during the event were: free medical consultation (blood test, body mass index testing, etc.). Free mammogram and breast ultrasound vouchers were also given to thirty women by Thumbay Hospital.
