7 reasons you shouldn't miss Kalayaan in Dubai

  DUBAI – Filipinos in the UAE will be celebrating Philippine Independence Day one month early this May 12, with plenty of activities in store for visitors at the Dubai World Trade Center. This year's Independence Day celebration in Dubai has been moved to May since June 12, the actual Philippine Independence Day, falls during Ramadan in the UAE, according to Philippine Consul General Paul Raymund Cortes. Filipino expatriate leaders in the emirate, led by FilClub and in cooperation with the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai and Northern Emirates have teamed up to create an exciting day-long celebration, said FilClub chairman Tata Dayot.  

Here are 7 reasons why you shouldn't miss this event:

It's an event for the Filipino and by the Filipino. What better time to rub elbows with kababayans from all walks of life than at this special event at the Dubai World Trade Center? Entrance is free so grab your family and friends and celebrate Filipino pride from 7am to 6pm, and don't miss cultural shows, contests and freebies from your favourite Filipino brands. 2. Battle of the Bands
