  DUBAI – The Philippine Pavilion lit up in blue on Wednesday evening (November 10) for the first time since it opened to the public in October. “Visitors have commented about the lacklustre façade at night. It’s great to see the Bangkota finally glow in the dark,” a staff told Expatmedia.net during our visit to the pavilion on Wednesday evening. Watch the live coverage here (skip to the 26:15 mark to see the Philippine Pavilion façade) For weeks, Filipinos in the UAE have taken to social media to express their disappointment about the "lack of experiential" features during their visit to the Philippine pavilion, the country’s biggest Expo pavilion one in a decade. “I intentionally visited Philippine Pavilion this early evening today thinking it would look better during evening time with expected lights to enhance the design. Unfortunately, it still looks like chicken cage. I cannot see coral reefs ,” Dubai-based expat Leilah Balanon said in a Facebook post on October 12. On Wednesday evening, the Philippine Pavilion façade was finally bathed in blue as the exterior lights went on, bearing a closer resemblance to 3D design representation of the pavilion that was first released in 2019. The Bangkóta is the biggest Expo pavilion the Philippines has ever showcased, with a total area of 3,163sqm.
