The Philippine Pavilion at World Expo 2025 Osaka has earned global applause after winning the Silver Award for Exhibition Design from the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE). The award recognizes pavilions under 1,500 square meters that excel in storytelling and design. Out of 158 participating countries, the Philippines’ creative showcase stood out for its authenticity and soul. “This recognition affirms that when we lead with authenticity and pride, the world sees the goodness and strength of who we are as a people,” said Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco, adding that the Philippine participation at Expo 2025 Osaka was done "with the conviction that we would bring to the world the heart and soul of the Filipino." The pavilion, themed “Nature, Culture & Community — Woven Together for a Better Future,” has drawn over 1.1 million visitors since April. It features a live performance façade of woven panels crafted by communities from all 18 Philippine regions, AI-powered interactive installations, and a Hilot wellness and Hain food corner—a true meeting of heritage and innovation. “This Silver Award is a triumph not only of design but of devotion,” Frasco added. “From our artisans to our architects, the Philippine Pavilion reflects the hard work and faith of our people.” The pavilion has also hosted cultural and trade events, strengthening ties with Japan and promoting tourism and investment. After the Expo, many of its elements will be repatriated to the National Museum of the Philippines, ensuring its legacy continues as a platform for learning and national pride.
