The Bureau of Customs (BOC) is set to auction six high-end vehicles linked to illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) activities in a public sale scheduled for Thursday (May 7). According to the BOC-Port of Manila, the auction will be conducted through sealed bidding at 10am (Philippine time) at the conference room of its Prefab Building in the Port Area. Among the vehicles up for bidding are a 2019 Lexus ES, 2021 Jeep Wrangler, 2023 BMW X6, 2023 Mercedes-Benz S680 Maybach, 2022 Bentley Continental, and a 2021 Rolls-Royce Cullinan. Interested bidders will be allowed to inspect the vehicles during a public viewing scheduled for Monday (May 4) and Tuesday (May 5) at the BOC-Manila grounds. The agency previously said it aims to generate around P69.8 million based on the floor prices of the vehicles. The upcoming auction follows a previous sale held on April 28, where only a 2023 Rolls-Royce Phantom was sold for P25.5 million out of 12 luxury vehicles offered. The vehicles are part of a broader crackdown on assets linked to illegal POGO operations in the Philippines. Separately, the BOC also reported a failed negotiated sale of 21 vehicles last week, including four luxury units seized from contractor couple Pacifico and Sarah Discaya. The sale did not proceed after two interested bidders were disqualified due to technical issues. Among the vehicles linked to the Discayas are two GMC Denali units, a Maserati Levante, and a Cadillac Escalade. Authorities said another negotiated sale covering all remaining vehicles may be conducted next month.
