A 13-man delegation from the Philippines will compete in the UAE SWAT Challenge in February to represent the country in the global competition. The Philippine delegates are members of the Philippine National Police's 84th Special Action Company - Rapid Deployment Battalion. They will compete with 81 other SWAT teams from 70 countries through a gauntlet of tactical and operation challenges from February 3 to 7 in the UAE Swat Challenge hosted by Dubai Police. Department of the Interior and Local Government Secretary Benhur Abalos called on the Philippine team to give their best, and pledged to give P50,000 to each of them. “This team will symbolize our country. You are the best of the best. The bravery, expertise, and heart of Filipinos is unlike any other,” Abalos said during his command visit at the Special Action Force Headquarters in Bicutan on Friday. Abalos hoped that the competition would not only center around winning but on learning from the police advancements of other countries. “Life is a continuous learning process. A good way of learning is being exposed to international competitions,” he said. “In this competition, take note of the advancements made by other countries. This will not only help bolster ours but will also be instrumental in saving lives in the future.” ICA/Expat Media ALSO READ: How to get free entry to UAE SWAT Challenge
