The Philippine News Agency (PNA) announced on Wednesday that there have now been 25 fatalities due to the country's torrential downpours and flooding in the Visayas and Mindanao. On Wednesday, rescue crews from nine different Philippine provinces raced to find the 26 individuals who went missing after one of the country's deadliest weather occurrences this year. According to Diego Agustin Mariano of the disaster agency, "Search and rescue operations continue, led by the coast guard as most of them were missing fishermen." The Philippines has previously had calamities typically brought on by more powerful typhoons and tropical storms, of which the archipelagic country regularly experiences roughly 20 each year. Additionally, the organization noted more than 300 flooded places and 20 rain-induced landslides, which have forced more than 80,000 people to take shelter in evacuation centers. Most of the floods have since subsided. BKM/ Expat Media
