Philippines to begin e-Travel system on April 15

Starting on Saturday (April 15), passengers must register in the Philippines' new e-Travel system if they want to travel into or out of the country by plane or boat. Registration in the new online travel declaration system etravel.gov.ph is a requirement for arrival or departure from the Philippines and must be done within 72 hours prior to the travel. Those who fail to register will be assisted by officers upon arrival in the Philippines. According to the Bureau of Immigration, the e-Travel system is free to use and will help travelers have a “faster, more convenient” immigration procedure. The e-travel system will also replace paper-based departure cards, so Filipino travelers must register their details in the system 72 hours before their flight. The use of arrival and departure cards will be completely discontinued starting May 1.

How to register on e-Travel system

1. Go to https://etravel.gov.ph 2. Select “Philippine passport holder” or Foreign passport holder” 3. Enter the details of your travel and your email address 4. Enter your personal details and sign a health declaration form to complete registration 5. Wait for QR code to be generated, then download and print/save a digital copy 6. Present your QR code upon check-in prior to your departure or during the BOQ verification upon arrival ICA/Expat Media
