Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach Jauncey is set to make a special appearance at the OFW Serbisyo Caravan on Sunday (August 3), at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC). A Philippine Consulate official confirmed to Expat Media that Pia is expected to arrive at around 3pm at Exhibition Hall 8, where the flagship outreach program will run from 9am to 6pm, offering a full day of Philippine government services to Filipinos in the UAE. Pia, who is the ambassador of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), is lending her star power to help raise awareness about OWWA's programs and to connect with her fellow Overseas Filipinos. OWWA noted that Pia is both a former OFW and the daughter of an OFW, making her an ideal ambassador for the organization.

OWWA membership and discounts

At the event, Filipinos can apply for or renew their OWWA membership and receive their physical OWWA card or activate the digital card. OWWA membership, priced at P1,461.25, is valid for two years and provides a wide range of benefits, including: • Emergency help and legal assistance • Hospitalization and disability aid • Free training, seminars, and counseling • Livelihood starter packages and reintegration programs • Scholarships for OFWs’ children Members can also enjoy exclusive perks, such as a 50 percent discount on selected Nike items at Green Tee Inc.-operated branches in the Philippines, plus an additional 10 percent off on purchases over ₱10,000. This special promotion runs from August 1 to December 31.

The “Bagong Bayani ng Mundo – OFW Serbisyo Caravan” is the flagship outreach initiative of the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW). The one-day event allows Filipinos to access more than 10 essential services from various Philippine government agencies—all under one roof. “Now there’s no excuse to not find out if someone is truly single,” one organizer quipped to Expat Media, referring to the highly sought-after CENOMAR (Certificate of No Marriage) being issued on-site. Here’s what OFWs can do at the Caravan: 1. Apply for your CENOMAR or Certificates Agency: Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Documents available: • CENOMAR – ₱210 • Birth, Marriage, Death Certificates – ₱155 each • Certificate of No Death Record How to apply: 1. Visit the PSA booth at Hall 8 2. Choose the type of certificate 3. Present valid Philippine ID 4. Pay via peso, GCash, or PayMaya 5. Receive confirmation and processing timeline 2.
